Making Discoveries As The Journey Continues

Our ancestors left paper trails... etc. on their journey. Many of our ancestors have been forgotten. Only what is remembered and or recorded, lives on. Their descendants are the historians to pass down the family history. My DNA is 73% African American. As for the other 27%, I know very little info about. I thank God for my DNA make up. 

I don't know what got me hooked on wanting to know more about my ancestors.  I would look at old family photos. I would wonder...

This Article began my quest to search for my African American ancestors. It's been interesting along the journey. I made discoveries about this article. I began a search on the information that was written on my father's, side.

I know that we can't know every thing about our ancestors. We have to leave room for mystery. But, with whatever our ancestor left us, should be treasured.

I know that there were some sad things that we read about our relatives. It's with God's grace that we can receive comfort from what we come across. We all struggle and suffer things in life.

 There are good things that our ancestors left with our.  Only if we can go deeper to find out that they left. Where do we start? How do we go about searching?

This Article began my quest to search for my African American ancestors. It's been interesting along the journey. I made discoveries about this article. I began a search on the information that was written some years ago.

Oh, how little a searcher can know about their ancestors and come across a gold mine of information while searching for their family connections. It's possible. I have some long lost relatives who have made the family connections. I believe that there are more.

I hope that you will have some interest in where your ancestors came from.  It will take some time in the searching.  It's an adventure as things unfold.  I hope you make the quest to want to know more about your ancestors. The future generations will be thankful that someone took the time to record what they discovered about their ancestors.

then to St. Joseph, Missouri about 1889/ 1890. 

They lived in Denver Colorado about 1818 / 1919.
     Charlotta lived in New York 8 months before her passing.
Both Robert and Charlotta were buried in Ashland Cemetery,
 in St. Joseph, Missouri

Welcome to another New Year!  We have a fresh new beginning. Where will we start?

I plan to review some of what I've discovered over the years. I have a lot. Some things, I forgot that I have. There are things I have to update and make some corrections.

It takes time and a lot of patience to explore family history. We all have a story to share. Know one knows your story as well as you do.  We have to want to share what we know about our ancestors.  I hope people will share.

Family history is an adventure to journey through.

Made Some Progress in 2016: Hoping to Make More Discoveries in 2017

Happy Last Day of 2016! I made some progress over this year. I came across more family connections on my father's same. Most of the connections were through the DNA matches.

I believe that there are more cousins out there. They are searching to find more on their family history What will do they know, if they keep searching the leads that they have, they might find more if they don't give up.

I've learned that when I kept searching, I came across more clues to follow up on. It takes time to search from information. We can guess at things. But, things have to match up in the long run.

I hope that you have discovered more on your family connections. I hope that you can add more to your family tree. I'm thankful for those who have added more to family connections.

I thank God for those who are reaching out. And those who are interested in finding more connections through the DNA route.  I hope to find more family connections.
