A century passed Since my father's birth
Grace in the waiting God's creation earth
People all around Making up the whole
Centuries to centuries Jesus saving souls
Grace in the waiting To meet Jesus Christ
By faith comes receive No special device
Ancestors clear back All centuries that passed
Grace In The Waiting To the very last

Why Did I Start This Family History Website?
There are many reasons why I started this family history website. I can say, the main reason why; I like to record my family history. I don't want what I've discovered, be lost.
I want to share what I know about my family history so others could read the discoveries I made and may add what they know. I hope that others will be inspired to search for their family history.
Also, I can say, I'm looking out for the future generations. They might want to know some things about their past generations. They might fun it interesting to see how we lived.
Through the years, I've shared what I've been doing. I've received some comments. There have been some encouraging words of appreciation. I'm thankful for that!
I hope what I share will be helpful to those who come across or see some connection on my family tree. Also, it's nice that others will add what they know about any one on the family tree. Any information might be of help. We'll never know if we don't share.
In all, we all have a story to share. What I'm sharing is what I have discovered on my journey. I know that there can be more to what I share. I'm just one person. There are a lot of things I don't know. (There are a lot of people on my family tree.)
As for the most of what I'm sharing; it comes from information that I've researched. I was curious enough to start searching. I've found more than what I expect to find. There are many things I wish I can find.
I haven't touch some areas in the family history. I'm not sharing some information on living relatives yet. I will share in the years come. I try not to write about people who are living without their permission. However in some cases, I think some relatives wouldn't mind that I mention their names.
Thanks to all who read what I post. And to those who are connected to my lineage, I hope that you are recording what you know about your connections. Don't let what you know be lost. We know a lot but think that it isn't important to share.
What I've been seeing in doing research, there are some who don't share. There's so much that we know that we don't share with one another. We have our reasons.
I see a lot private sites on ancestry.com. That's OK! But I see the more open we are, some things may come to light. The little clues that we know can unlock some one's family's mysteries or secrets that are unknown.
O how I wish that my ancestors recorded some things about their lives. I've come across many ancestors who can't read or write. But they could talk. They had a memory of what they went through. I hope those who can write.... write some things down some of what their ancestor told them.
I believe that there are people interested in... where their ancestors came from. But the question is, will people start looking? Will we share? We can say this and say they. We can disagree on what was what. But will we search to find answers?
I hope that others will join in the search. I'm just one person. When others start it add what they know or heard, it builds that family tree. The tree grows by what we all add to what we know....
May we learn that family history is important. May we not let what we know or what we discover be lost. May we learn from one another and not be upset because some things aren't mention in our family history.
May we not be ashamed to share what we know about our family history. May God grant us with leads to follow. May we have a good attitude in searching. May we not grew weary in doing good. Amen.
Thanks for reading.
Staying On The Family History Journey,
Why Did I Start This Family History Website?
So what I have discovered want be lost.
So things will be passed down to generations to come.
Hoping that they will pass it on.
Peace Be With You,
Susan

The Blakey White Family
Here's An Article on myfather's side
The Blakey White Family
This article was written about 1970. The reunion was held in Sioux City Iowa. Some of the information was incorrect. The people listed... coming from Africa weren't the people in article The mother of Isaac and John were born in VA. Isaac and John born in MO. Perhaps that story of slaves from Africa was another generation. This article got me interested in searching more. I came along ways on the journey. Wonder why BLAKEY / WHITE? The mother's name was Julia WHITE born children. The father's name was Andrew WHITE born about 1818. |
I need to update and make some corrections on this news clipping.

It's Been A Year
I started this family history site a year ago on June 30, 2009. It's coming along OK. I've posted dated a lot of blogs through the year 2012. I'm working on 2013.
Most of what I have posted, I wrote before on another site. I post about 2 to 5 blogs a month. I never thought to have a site just for my family history information.
I'm glad that I started this site. I can return to my site and see what I have written. As I've been looking back over some things, I see that there were some ancestors that I have not written about.
I've been future posing all my blogs. This year's blogs for my family history are already set. This is a bonus blog. Just an update.

Recording Our Lives
There are things in our life that we do, we may not consider. We're recording our lives. There are others who are watching us. But at times do we realized that?
Our lives, no matter how long or short it maybe, will have something to say for those who are watching us. We all note things about one another. Things that we point out and have some things to say about what we do.
If we set back and review our lives we can note some things that we do or have been doing. Things that has given us a signature about our live. We all have something as a signature.
It may be what we always wore. For example sunglasses, hats, certain kind of clothing that we took on in our lifetime. This signature is something that leaves us an image of what we are associated with.
Then we when we recall a person's life, we should think of the good. And there are some things that are unusual about others. What we do lead us to what others perceive in us.
Indeed our lives are being recorded. May we realize that others are watching us. May we reflect humility and not to be prideful. May we see the beauty that others have in them. Amen!
On The Journey ....
Recording Our Lives
There are people who are watching us.
What we do leaves some kind of impression.
Whether it's for influence or for causing others to stumble.
Remember God is watching TOO!

It's A New Year
Happy New Year!
My quest for the family history continues. I don't know what I will discover this year. I hope that I will locate my Great Grandma Laura WALTERS and her daughter Mary and step children on the 1900 census.
There is so much out there. I don't know where to look for things. There are some family reunions in the works on my father's side and mother's side this year.
2010 is a census year too. I hope to add more to the family tree. There are so many cousins out there. Long lost relatives.
I have my blog entries set for this year. I hope to add more stories along this journey. Most of what I have are blogs that I've already written. There were some blogs I have updated.
I started this website to combine all of what I have written in one location. I'm recording what I find along the way.
Have A Great 2010!
Happy Searching,
Susan

Thoughts On Searching
There is so much to do when searching for ancestors. What I have found out, there are a lot of same name people in the searching. It's weird to see.
Names are similar but in the wrong year and places. It's hard to determine who's who when don't know the right information.
But there the process of time, things can come clearer. There come a break through in the searching.
I like knowing more about my family lineage. There are so many of us. I can't understand how some things have been lost.
Information about things wasn't passed down. Or maybe it was forgotten. I think that there are some things that's still around that can give clues to our past.
