Changes In Blogger

  Welcome to the 4th Quarter!

I can't figure out how to future post or add links. This is sad. Things have changed on blogger. I can't blog like I use to. I'm having trouble getting use to the new set up.

But, I'm getting use to the changes as I play around with things. My old post are still there, thank God.  I have managed to do somethings.

Here are the In Remembrance:

Slowing Down On Searching For Family Connections

Welcome to September!

We have to keep pressing on during this coronavirus pandemic.
Be safe and please go by the CDC guidelines.

I continue to  blog on my 52 Ancestors 52 Weeks.. I've been slowing down on searching for my family connections.  I'm rereading articles and information that I have come across.

While I'm doing my 52 week challenge of blogging about some of my relatives, I'm having to review some things. It's a task in itself. It's a good think to recheck things.

I received news of some relatives who have passed. I can't locate their death records. I'm checking. It's sad to hear news of loved ones who have passing.

I hope that all is well with you. If not I pray that things will get better. Keep believing God will see us through this pandemic.

Storm Issues

Wednesday, 22 August 2007

Storm Issues

There was a time in my life to where I had fear of storms. I would not sleep in my bed, if I know that there was a storm going on. I would seem to sense a storm when they were there. I would wake up in the middle of the night in fear.

This was at the other place where we lived. My bed was by a very big picture window. I use to be afraid that the window would break or something. When there was lighting, the flash would light up my whole room. That would woke me up, if the thundering didn't.

Then through this storm issue came another issue in my life. For about 2 1/2 the months of May, June and parts of July of 2005, I had another issue in my life that was going on. I thought that it would never end. I was worried about it.

There was a time in the early morning hours, I was laying in my bed. The storm woke me up. I was thinking to myself about my other issue. It does not matter. The issue that I had at that time seemed to be worst than the fear that I had about storms. So I just laid in bed.

For some reason, I did not worry about the storm or what would happen to me. I face that fear as I laid in my bed. If I would die, I would die. I had a fear if I would be struck by lighting. Any way the other issue made me think that I was in a dying situation. Either way I would have been with the LORD.

With both of this issues going on that the same time, I felt something was leaving me. What left was the fear of the storms. Thank You Jesus! I did conquer both of those issues. I did overcame the fear of storms. I began to sleep in my bed without no problems.

In our new place, I can sleep through the storms. My bed is away from my window. There have been a lot of times when I didn't know that we had a storm. What joy I have that I can sleep through loud thundering and flashing lighting.
But in emergencies may the Lord woke me up. Some times I am awaken at nights. There are "storms" going on in the spirit as well as in the the natural. In either storm may I hear the alert to awake from my sleep.

Storm Issues in life seem to cloud up and bring fear into our days, but we don't have to let them. Yes, I have other fears that I need to conquer. May I and other have the courage to overcome our weakness in life as we are going through to get to the other side of them.

I will leave you with this thought that has been with me since 1994. It was in my weakest times in life and during my weaknesses in fear, that I believe by knowing that God is with me. That's how I receive this revelation...Maybe you can relate to this....

The STRONGEST POINT in your life is
when you know, that you know.

Chosen Family: Myrtle Peyton #52Ancestors 52 Weeks

I  was thinking about one of my DNA cousins. His match confirmed someone on my Bartlett family tree. It was an answer to my prayers. I was on the right track and on my quest in making discoveries  along the paper trail.

To make a long story short. I was wondering who were the parents of Myrtle Peyton. I first came across her on the 1900 census. She was listed a mulatto born about 1886 in Kansas. She was the granddaughter of Harriet  BARTLETT.  Harriet was my Great Grandmother.

I have a list of Harriet's children and of her husband Elias' children to a prior marriage. I narrowed it down to Lucy or Sallie. And I made a lot of discoveries while I was searching for Myrtle's parents.

I searched from Myrtle Peyton and discovered that she marriage a William Younger.  Lucile Mossell who was a witness to their marriage. Lucile "Lucy" was Myrtle's aunt through the Bartlett family.

I came across a Wade PEYTON who listed Myrtle Younger as a next of kin on  a WWII draft card.  Then I started searching for Wade through the Kansas censuses. I discovered that Wade was the son of Wade Hampton. Peyton Sr. (1850 - 1887) and Sarah (Bartlett) Peyton.

In all Myrtle and William had two daughters, Uldene and Gaynell. They later divorced. Myrtle married Earl C. MILLER. On Myrtle's marriage licence to Earl, it stated that Myrtle's mother, Sarah's maiden name was Shaw. I haven't found the place or year of Sarah's death.

I can assume that Sarah "Sallie's" mother was Rachel Shaw. Rachel was Elias' first wife while they were enslaved. I believe that Elias and Harriet were married on Dec 29, 1876 in Carrollton, Missouri.  Myrtle was  most likely Harriet's step granddaughter.

I haven't had any contact with my DNA cousin. I have emailed him. He did have  Uldene Younger  (1901 1991) on his family tree, She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Here's my  Project: The Elias W. Bartlett  Sr. Connections,
I'm still searching for clues.

I hope that you can make some connections with long lost relatives.

Week 34: Chosen Family

Family isn't always related by blood. Adoptions, step-children, foster children, and special friends of the family can be just as much "family" as those who share DNA. This is the week to highlight one of their stories. via  Genealogy Cafe on facebook.

August : Reviewing Information: Verifying Things As Possible

Welcome to the month of August!

I hope all are well.
The coronavirus is still with us.
Be safe.

I continue to search over what I have. It's time consuming. I have come across some things I have overlooked.

I keep hoping that I will stumble across some clues. It's been a long trail to follow. I can get weary on the way. There are brick walls. When we can go nowhere.
Here's my #52Ancestors 52 Weeks on my wordpress site.
I post a blog on Fridays.

Making The Most On The Journey: Making Discoveries

We are living in times of uncertainty. We should take each day one by one. I hope that you are doing well. Stay Safe and use common sense. This virus is far from over.

What discoveries have I come across?
I haven't made many. I've been going back over what I have. I had colorized some of my black and white photos on My Heritage. Oh,, the wonder of seeing old photos colorized.

I hope that you are searching for your family connections. We all have a story to share. We all can record what we know about our relative. May we pass on the good of what we know. Amen.

Getting Into New Things.

Welcome to April!
And I wish all the very best in the 2nd quarter of 2020!

The world is in a terrible mess with the
Coronavirus disease ...COVID-19. I've been watching the updates daily. I pray that there will be the end of this disease. And a cure will be found. We are all in this together. We have to work together to get through this. Use common sense and stay safe.

I've  been getting into new things.I haven't been searching much. I've been slowing down on my family connections journey. I have too.

I've been reviewing what I know. And watching webinars on how to search for things such as BlackProGen Live , googling and searching newspapers online.

It's a challenge to search when hitting brick walls. I've been reviewing what I have. There's no more that I can do. I will continue to search and journal abou what I know.

Thanks for reading.

God Bless you.
