The Lankfords worked for the Morton families.
The Morton surname could have been the Lankford Family's former slave owners.
Robert may had another relative named, Mrs. Sarah Anna (Lankford) JOHNSON.
Sarah was born in October of 1851 in Kentucky.
She lived and was married in Lewis County, Missouri.
She was the wife of Mr. Wesley Z. JOHNSON.
They had about 12 children.
Mr. Lewis Lankford married Miss Charlotta Dade on January 25, 1873 in Canton, Missouri.
Charlotta's parents Mr. Isaac and Mrs. Frances Dade were witnesses to the marriage.
Robert worked as a Boatsman, Laborer, Stone Mason, Grader, Contractor and Builder.
He was the proprietor of the Lankfard Café in 1911 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was self employed.

and Mr. Louis Newton" Lew" Dade. There could have been one named Mr. Isaac Dayde.
Also there could have been siblings named Frances DADE , Benj DADE and George DADE.
Father was Isaac DADE who was born circa 1808 in Virginia.
Mother was Frances OVINGTON who was born circa 1812 in Kentucky.
Frances was listed on the 1900 MO Census.
Charlotta was a Housewife and Laundress: Stream stress.
She lived in Denver Colorado for a short time with her husband in 1918.
They returned to St. Joseph, Missouri.
It appears that Charlotta moved back to Denver from 1921 - 1923.
Then she moved to New York for eight months.
She passed on April 3, 1924 in New York, New York.
Charlotta's passing was announced in the newspaper.
Her body was brought back to St. Joseph, Missouri.
Charlotta was buried next to her husband, Robert in Ashland Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri on April 6, 1924.
Robert Louis and Charlotta had about 10 or 11 children.

I think, that this Isaac was Louis Lankford. Louis' father went by Louis Lankford in his early days.
Louis was the middle name of his father Robert LOUIS Lankford. Some how the name Isaac was mentioned. Charlotta's father was Isaac. Charlottie's address on her death record was 160 W. 142nd St. Apt 5 Louis "Add" Lankford lived at 160 West 142nd from about 1920 - 1925.

This is just a thought. It could have been the person who made the arrangement for the tombstone for the spelling of the surname. The brothers in New York, spelled their surname LANKFARD.

Louis "Add" Lankfard, Frederick "Fred" Lankfard and Nymadula "Nym" Lankfard.
Brother, Charles Lankford came to New York don't know the year.
The brothers followed each other as they were on the R.R.

Sister, Anna Alice Smith lived in Denver and Kansas City, Missouri.
She moved back to St. Joseph, after her husband passed in January of 1948.
Isabella V. Nickerson and her family were the only ones who stayed
in Denver, Colorado.
It wasn't until late 2014 when I made some connections with a descendant of Isabella. They were searching for Isabella's family connections also. They couldn't make the connections.
I'm so thankful that I came across some of Isabella's descendants.
